Wer hat an der Uhr gedreht..?,  installation, 2020.

Special Thanks to Fridays for Future Passau and some wonderful individuals for letting me use their original demonstration posters.

Wer hat an der Uhr gedreht..? was the heart-piece of the "Are You (coming) With Me?" exhibition. It shows an oversized clock made out of demonstration posters concerning the ongoing climate crisis. The clock hands are made out of huge matchsticks. It's 5 past 12... time for climate change is overdue and the big hand is already burnt (like the rainforests) and dead (like countless species). The little hand still has a chance that cannot be missed.

DIY Wingless Bird,  sculpture, 2020.

This little anonymous bird is made out of plastic waste, mainly red food packaging, and prickly wire. It stands as an wingless representative of all the birds that suffer under polluted environments, unintentionally build their nests with plastic pieces and feed their babies micro plastics.

We have all seen those horrifying images of dead birds with stomachs full of plastic. Our waste made those birds sick - we create them and we kill them.

The same, of course, applies to fish. Meet DIY Fish.

Make a Wish | Wünsch' dir was,  interactive installation, 2018.

Make a Wish originates from the exhibition CONNECTION, in which visitors were asked to write down their wish(es) on a little sticky note. When all the papers were used, I collected them, read them all and brought them into order. While reading the answers I was both laughing and crying, as there was such a vast variety of wishes. However, when it comes to our deepest desires we all want the same: love, joy, health, success and peace.

The result of my project was exhibited on Dec 7, 2018 in the International Christmas Night under the title of All We Want For Christmas... .

Golden Cage of Time,  sculpture, 2018.

Time is a delusion. When A. Einstein said that “The distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly convincing illusion”, he made one of the most profound statements about our existence.

Once we learn how to free ourselves from the concept of time, we learn to let go of the past and stop worrying about the future. The only reality is always the present moment. Be in the here and now to the fullest and you’ll notice that the cage was always big enough to just fly through and that the key to freedom was always in your hands.

Shelter,  sculpture, 2018.

A protective shelter of natural spikes and the blood which runs through the body; threatening and comforting the heart alike; keeping the balance between love and pain that is an essential part of life.

Teile deine Gedanken | Share Your Thoughts, interactive Installation, 2018.

During the course of the Night of the Arts in Passau, Germany, visitors were invited to share their thoughts on almost one-hundred sticky notes a 3 x 1 meter long paper which was installed on the wall. After writing down their thoughts, wishes and dreams, they could take one of my hand-made paper cranes home as a token of luck. A truly unique and living artwork in which each visitor became an active participant.

(No) great women artists?, installation: acrylic and permanent marker on wood, paper, wire, ca. 120 x 150 cm, 2016-17.

In her 1971 essay, Linda Nochlin asks "Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists?" Up until today, many brilliant women artists remain widely unknown. It is our duty to keep questioning the centuries-old canon of art history, because many female masters are yet to be discovered.

The paper-cranes symbolise the role of women in art history, which is based on certain social expectations (golden wires) and at the same time express the wish and the potential for free expression.

Project Postcard, watercolour and fineliner on paper, 2018.

On July 26, 2018, my 23rd birthday, I sent twenty-two self-made postcards to twenty-two people who had the most impact on my life up to that day.

Each card was inscribed on both sides with individual personal messages. Although I am not in active contact with most of the receivers,  they all contributed in one way or another to shape and influence my life. I believe if someone was/is important to you, you should let them know... especially: don't forget to count yourself among those people.

In total, my birthday cards reached people in 8 countries and 3 continents.

Leaf-art (I & II), acrylic on leaves, 2016.

Painting on leaves was a wonderful new and almost therapeutic experience. The naturally beautiful and unique shape of the leaf open the eye for the little wonders of nature around us. The works were created during my stay at University College Cork in Ireland.
